SMS Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 21, 2026
These SMS Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the text message ("SMS") notification program offered by Unit Call ("Unit Call," "we," "us," or "our"), a sole proprietorship owned and operated by Jeremy Williams, to residents of properties that use the Unit Call visitor intercom system. By verbally agreeing at resident setup (or at any later point, by contacting your property's leasing/management staff) to have your mobile phone number entered into the system for this purpose, you agree to these Terms.
What this program is
Unit Call operates a QR-code-based visitor intercom installed at your property's entry doors. When a visitor scans the code and requests to reach you, our system sends you a one-way informational text message letting you know a visitor is at the door and, when provided, the name the visitor typed in. This is a transactional / account-notification messaging program — it is not used for marketing or promotional messages.
Example messages you may receive (this is the exact wording our system sends, with the bracketed parts filled in per visitor/door):
UnitCall: John Smith is calling from Front Door. Open the UnitCall app to answer.
UnitCall: Jane Doe is calling from Side Entrance. Open the UnitCall app to answer.
Message and data rates may apply.
How you consent to receive messages (opt-in)
At lease signing, your property's leasing/management staff will tell you about this system and ask whether you would like to receive text message notifications when someone calls from the door.
- If you say yes, staff enter your mobile phone number into the system on your behalf. From that point on, you will receive a text message each time a visitor calls your door.
- If you say no, staff do not enter a phone number for you, and you will not receive any text messages.
There is no public web sign-up form for this — your consent is given verbally to leasing/management staff, and staff are the ones who enter (or do not enter) your phone number into the system. Consent to receive these messages is not a condition of any purchase, and is not a condition of your lease.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on visitor traffic at your door. You should expect to receive approximately 1–10 messages per month, though this may be more or less depending on usage.
Cost
Unit Call does not charge you a fee to receive these messages, but your mobile carrier's standard messaging and data rates may apply based on your plan.
How to opt out, or opt back in
If you decide at any time that you no longer want to receive these text messages, contact your property's leasing/management staff and ask them to remove your phone number from the system. Once removed, you will no longer receive text messages from Unit Call.
If you later decide you would like to start receiving these text messages after all, contact your property's leasing/management staff and ask them to enter your phone number into the system.
When you move out, your information is deleted from the Unit Call system entirely, and you will stop receiving both text messages and any app/web notifications from Unit Call.
Supported carriers
Unit Call's SMS notifications are available on major U.S. mobile carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No sharing of mobile information
We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or opt-in status with third parties for their own marketing purposes. See our SMS Privacy Policy for full details on how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued participation in the SMS program after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
